Negril Airport

Traveling to Negril in Jamaica is very easy especially if you coming in on flights from the United States. It is best that you make your travel arrangements to arrive at the airport in Montego Bay as it would be more economical than the one in Kingston.

It is about two hours drive or less from this airport to Negril and will depend on the road and traffic conditions. If you want to get there in shorter time and not up to a long drive then you can also get flights from airport in Montego Bay to the Negril Jamaica airport.

You also have the option when booking your travel arrangements to include airport pickups in your travel package. This is offered in the all-inclusive vacation packages from the luxury all-inclusive resorts in Negril.

If this is the type of vacation package that you are interested in getting for your vacation then you should select the all-inclusive resort that offers this service. This is not only convenient, but it saves you time and money.

If you are not getting an all-inclusive package, there are numerous ways that you can get transportation to take you to this resort town from Montego Bay. You could a rent a car from one of the legitimate companies that can be found on the airport premises.

This is not advised if it is your first time on the island, but if you are feeling adventurous and want to enjoy a ride at your pace, do your necessary research before you leave home and familiarize yourself with the Jamaica road map.

You also have the option of getting taxis at the airport as well, however this can be a little pricey if you are on a budget.  But, as they say when you are in Jamaica you should to as the Jamaicans do, in this case you would have to negotiate with the driver to get a good price. Another option which is definitely not recommended if you are not a seasoned traveler is to take public bus. This is the cheapest way but is not necessarily the best as you would be traveling on a crowded bus that might be very uncomfortable, have no space for luggage and be an easy prey for pickpockets.

Apart from taking a domestic flight to Negril airport Jamaica and getting all-inclusive package with airport transfers, the next best thing to do is to get a private bus that will carry you safe to your destination. One good thing about driving to Negril is the beautiful scenery of the ocean, mountains, great houses, sugar estates ruins and other landmarks that you will pass on your way.

When you take one of the domestic flights to Negril, you will have a number of taxis that will take you from the airstrip.
However, there is no bus service that is schedule from this airport and you will need to negotiate on prices for taxis at this point as well.

The Negril airport Jamaica is very small but it services the needs of the tourist resorts on the western side of the island very well and is even good for traveling to the other resort towns that are further than Montego Bay.
